Professional layouts & personalized messages
Put your best foot forward with sophisticated newsletter design. Send email in plain text or graphic (html) formats and link content in your newsletter to any number of pages in your website. Select data such as first names from the subscriber database for dynamic insertion into your message. Preview all mail before it is sent.

Sign-up, support and build profiles
Customer acquisition, retention and profiling are key goals of any email marketing campaign. We make achieving them that much easier. ThinData EMS processes have been automated wherever possible to minimize your time commitment, and those that require control are simple to use.

Some key features
  • ThinData EMS Subscription Manager automatically collects new subscriber information on your behalf and updates your address book.
  • Recipients have the ability to subscribe, unsubscribe or update their profile at any time.
  • Automatically receive and manage the administration of bounced emails.
  • Choose to collect either complex or basic subscription data.

  • Create and support multiple mailing lists easily. Mark certain email addresses for exclusion from a particular list.
  • Route all data collected from multiple forms to a single, centralized repository of information.

  • Create supporting sign-up forms, surveys or other web forms on the fly, and host them all on your own site or ours. The choice is yours.
Reporting features provide instant information
Our comprehensive reporting system delivers statistics in real-time. You can track such data as forwards, click-throughs, unsubscribes, form and contest results. Make use of our detailed web statistics software to get a complete picture of your results. Go to Analytics & Reports for more details.

Create targeted, relevant email based on demographics
Reporting features allow you to gain insight into your audience's demographic preferences. Next, easily filter your address book to identify and target different demographics.

Flexible, powerful support for transferring and managing data
Email capture, filtering and data integration are not issues with EMS. The system automatically captures and stores email addresses, names and any other information you may need in a powerful, searchable address book system. It filters and consolidates profile data for targeted, relevant email distribution. System robustness allows the batch upload of large data files, and tractability insures the seamless integration of new and existing data.

Usability

Easily accessible and easy to use
You can easily allocate varying levels of access to members of your editorial team as well as access EMS from anywhere with a web browser. No software installation required - all technical maintenance is handled by ThinData. A step-by-step process guides you through each stage of production and distribution. You have the option of sending email immediately or setting a later date and time. Send a high volume of email in minutes and monitor the status of distribution as it is being sent.

Members-Only Management Features
ThinData EMS can serve as a members-management system - coordinating password protected access to your members-only Web site services.

Frequently Asked Questions and User Guides
The system now includes a library of user guides and FAQ documents to help answer common questions about the system.

Context Sensitive Bubble Help
Virtually every item within the system, including menu options and input fields, features a help note to assist new users to the product. The bubble help can be turned off or back on again as needed.

User Permission Capability
Levels of account security can be managed by clients from directly within the system, allowing company administrators to easily manage security for users both globally and on specific objects such as mailing lists or databases.

User Management
Clients can now manage their own user accounts, adding, removing or modifying accounts from directly within the system.

Announcements
Clients can create announcements for other users who log into that same company account.

Current and Recent Mailings Quick View
The most recent broadcasts and the status for each is now displayed as a quick view when first entering the EMS.

Mailing List Management

Email Address Name Customizable Within Interface
Both the email address display name (Jane User) and the email address name (user@domain.com) that is used for broadcasts can now be customized from within the system.

Confirmation, Welcome, Goodbye, Subscribe and Unsubscribe Functionality
Confirmation, welcome, goodbye, subscribe and unsubscribe messages now support the full capabilities of any normal broadcast, including HTML and full tracking.

Website Forms
ThinData EMS provides website forms that can be copied and used on any website to start managing subscribers right away.

System Blocks
The system now allows for system level blocks on email addresses and/or domains. System level blocks are applied per company, and cannot be overridden by the client.

Auto-Responder
The system now supports sending an "Auto-Response" to anybody who replies to a broadcast. This message can either be a generic message or a fully custom message complete with HTML and tracking.

Unsubscribe By Email
User can now unsubscribe from a mailing list by replying to the broadcast and using the word "unsubscribe" as the subject line.

Mailing Lists Defaults
The most common defaults for mailing lists are automatically entered when creating a new mailing list.

Custom Link Tracking and Email Address Domains
You have the option of using ThinData's generic link tracking (td01.com) and email address (td02.com) domains or you can use their own domains. This is useful for AOL Whitelist compliance.

Consolidated Profile
Databases that have an email address feature an additional tab that will show all the information for that same person in any other database.

Contact History
ThinData EMS will show the complete contact history for any given email address in the system. Events such as any messages sent, any replies received, any emails opened, any subscriptions or unsubscriptions will be shown. This is particularly useful for PIPEDA and CAN-SPAM Act compliance.

Broadcasting

Campaign Grouping
Broadcasts can be grouped into campaigns allowing for more extensive reporting capabilities.

Campaign and Broadcast Tracking Codes
Tracking codes can be added to campaigns and/or broadcasts to facilitate synchronizing EMS data with internal client systems. Tracking codes are included in all reports and exports thus allowing the client to link EMS statistics data with CRM systems or other internal data warehousing systems.

Expanded Broadcast Testing Facilities
Broadcasts can now be tested by sending a single broadcast to the current user, send a broadcast to the people subscribed to the list who are designated testers or by using sample groups whereby a selectable number of samples from the entire recipient list can be sent to a specified set of email addresses, thus allowing the broadcaster to preview what several recipients would receive should the broadcast actually be sent.

Spam Checker
Our 939 step process makes sure that your email marketing messages will make it through the world's leading spam filters before sending to recipients.

Broadcast Splits
Broadcasts can now be split into several sub broadcasts whereby a smaller subset of the recipients can be sent various versions of the broadcast (different subject lines, content, etc), and then by reviewing the statistics for the sub broadcasts the remainder of the recipient list can be sent the version of the broadcast that produced the most successful results.

Broadcast Index Features
  • Broadcasts can be previewed directly from the current or previous broadcast index screens.
  • Recipients can be previewed directly from the current or previous broadcast index screens. You can also preview the message a specific recipient will, or did, receive.
  • Bounces can be previewed directly from the current or previous broadcast index screens. Any bounces received as a result of sending out the broadcast can be viewed including complete header information to help determine bounce issues.
  • You can access the report for any broadcast directly from the previous broadcast index screen.
  • New progress screen for broadcasts currently being sent out gives an up to the minute, self-refreshing status of the broadcast being sent.
