Privacy Analyst
Opportunity: ISP7898 - Permanent
The Privacy Analyst is responsible for learning, documenting and educating internal clients on the latest developments in privacy and legislation that relates to online marketing. Daily tasks will include documentation and training development, compliance evaluation and process reviews and external reputation management. Strong business and interpersonal skills will be utilized to translate legislation and industry best practices into easy-to-follow and understandable processes for all clients. This entry level job reports to the Director, Delivery & ISP Relations. 75% of the incumbent’s time will be spent on privacy education and review.The position is also responsible for providing back-up support to the Delivery & ISP Relations Analyst.
Responsibilities:
Privacy (75% of the time)
- Develop knowledge of Federal and Provincial privacy laws and regulations
- Conduct privacy policy gap analysis
- Support education of privacy policy framework and policy development
- Develop privacy training and awareness for Development, Project and Account Management teams
- monitor and escalate issues based on the company’s privacy policies and procedures
- Analyze, evaluate, and optimize privacy practices
- Streamline current privacy practices
- Monitor clients and ensure compliance with policies for subscriber acquisition, list hygiene, and creative design to maximize email deliverability
- Maintain and communicate the company’s global privacy policy
- Apply appropriate tools to monitor internal and client activity
Best Practice Development of Privacy Policy- Maintain and communicate the company’s global privacy policy
- Apply appropriate tools to monitor client sending activity
Delivery & ISP Relations (25% of the time)- Monitor and escalate issues based on the company’s privacy and anti-spam policies and procedures
- Ensure clients follow our sending guidelines and thresholds
- Collaborate with clients to monitor reputation and reporting
- Monitor email campaigns for email deliverability failures, manage escalation either directly or through escalation contacts at ISP's
- Manage relationships with ISPs including white listing and feedback loop programs
- Analyze, evaluate, and optimize e-mail list performance
- Streamline current deliverability practices
- Maintain and increase knowledge of Privacy practices and application of legislation
Best Practice Development of Email Deliverability- Monitor clients and ensure compliance with policies for subscriber acquisition, list hygiene, and creative design to maximize email deliverability
- Develop strong relationships with key contacts at major ISPs, and SPAM officers to ensure resolutions of email deliverability issues for customers can be managed quickly
- Apply appropriate tools to monitor client sending activity and delivery
Qualifications:- University/College degree in privacy, business administration or computer science preferred
- 6 months to 1 year of experience
- Understanding of Federal and Provincial privacy laws
- Effective client management and client services skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Strong telephone and email etiquette
- Resourceful, motivated and demonstrates initiative
- Ability to perform consistently at a high level in a very fast-paced environment
- Understanding of email messaging technologies
- Knowledge of DNS, SMTP, UNIX, Microsoft SQL and HTML
